My Inspiration..

I finally got to meet a woman who has inspired me over the past 6 years. We meet up in Tucumcari NM and had some fun. I wasnt as fun as I could of been since I cried several times (sorry holly). The kids had a blast though. They played, swam, played at the park and got to hang out in a really cool RV. Oh and they got to stay in a fantastic little cabin. When I was alone in the cabin I cried a lot. Just wondering HOW I will raise my kids the way I feel is right, all alone? I look at them and continue to wonder how I will do it. I did not sleep again that night but layed there cryiing to myself with Khyro on my legs, J on my back and M across my head. I could hear them breathing and it made my heart ache. Ok, enough sob stuff onto the fun pics.

Homeschooling the Enki way.... first few days

Well we have officially started! I get excited every evening getting what we need ready. Reading over our weekly story, nature story and craft. I dont have the true rhythm down yet. But after 2 weeks I am getting close. The kids respond so well to a set rhythm and this is my goal for them and myself, to know what is coming next each day. Khyro did his first craft from Enki craft book. It is a ribbon staff. He was excited at first and then became very frustrated. I read him the story of a fox chasing a rabbit that I borrowed from another Enki HS mom. He didnt quite understand it, so I read it again. By the 4th ribbon he was able to do it himself. Afterwards he just sat there like he was emberassed? I let him know how proud I was of him. He then asked if he could leave it there to show his dad, of course! I let him know that now he could get a pair of shoes that he can tie all on his own, he was very happy about that!!

Mother Earth's creations

"Mom, did mother earth make this for us"? khyro asks. I turn around and he had pulled out a huge carrot from our little garden. I told him that "yes, mother earth took the seeds we planted had the root children hug them tight to keep them warm until they grew. Now they are big enough to eat". So, Khyro and Journey pulled up all of the carrots that were ready. They were so amazed by the process J decided to pull up a cucumber and yanked up the entire plant. We had to replant it, started to look a bit sad.

Good news!

We went to a follow up U/S today to be sure I truely did not have an eptopic pregnany. Not only do I not have one but I am farther along then they suspected, about 9-10 weeks or so. Baby was bouncing around had a heart beat of 183 and you can see tiny arms and nubs for legs! I am in shock and Darryl didnt say a thing so who knows what he thinks. I guess birth control doesnt work? Khryo and Journey were excited and today when we got home J was convinced she had a baby to! Anyhow, I am happy and excited I sure wish I had family who would share in the joy with me....

Kids say the darndest things

Ok, so K and I were making potato salad for our 4th of July party. He is on the counter chopping potatoes and says, "mom, why can you see coyotes eyes at night" Not knowing why I say, "they have lights in their eyes" K says, "o so they have eye bulbs" I peed my pants, sounded good to me. After he was done with the potatoes he said, "so do I cut these ones to" (the sweet potatoes on the counter). I say, "No, those are sweet potatoes". He says, "Oh the ones I cut were bad potatoes then". Where on earth does he come up with these things??

Homeschooling with your imagination

Journey and Khyro raided the fridge and got our the pepperonies. As they were fighting over who gets them first the pkg ripped open and fell on the floor. Being the imaginative kids that they are they saw letters in the pile of pepperonies. Who says you have to write with pencil and paper?

Tough decisions..

Well a few months ago I received a fantastic offer and compliment. A very "famouse" diaper maker/seller asked if I would sell my patterns to her so she could produce 'sized' diapers. I finally agreed to the sale and sent her samples. I did not hear back from her for a while so I decided to just bite my lip and email. I got a reply tonight and she said she did not want to purchase all of my patterns, just my small one. I am still thrilled that she thinks they are great. Of course my small is my #1 seller. The offer is less then the original offer which really bums me out. But the offer is still generouse. I am not sure what to do now. I could make the same amount if I worked 4 hours a day making 12 smalls in that time for a month, this is working EVERY day. Of course I am not allowed to work that much. I get to sew only a few hours a week, so really the offer amount is what I most likely make in 2-3 months time. Ugg what would you do? I need advice on this and dont know who to ask..

How do you get a wooden chicken?

Well first you have your hen sit on wooden eggs! I went out to check on our new baby chic and noticed mama hen had 3 more eggs she was sitting on. When she got up to eat the cantelope with her hubby rooster I picked up each egg. Three were smaller then the others. I gently shook them (yes i am sure I caused shaken chicken syndrome) and three made no noise and felt more solid then the others. Upon closer inspection I realized those three eggs were WOODEN HABA EGGS! Apparently, Journey put these three eggs under mama hen to hatch into wooden chics.

It's raining it's pouring

WOOO HOOO it is RAINING!!!! Now, I dont have to go out and water the tomato, jalapeno and herbs we planted yesterday!! Khyro and Journey decided to go in and 'get their shoes' yesterday instead of helping me plant. Well, they didnt get their shoes they flooded the bathroom. So, I had a sweet little helper. I think he ate more dirt then he put in the pots.

Who's my daddy?

see any resemblance in the babies and their daddy's

Hillbilly highschoolers

You know your teens are hillbillies when;

They are fighting the windstorm to hang rugs and diapers on the clothesline. I am sure Cahner and Dakotah will be proud of this photo. Dina and I were cracking up watching them hang up the rug and it would fly away, they would get it and do it again. Well, you see the pattern here! Notice how the rooster is looking on, wonder what he was thinking?

Here I am

So, my friend Dina started a blog and said I should do the same. So, here it is my blog. Of course my blog will be just a bunch of random thoughts, but hey atleast I am trying.

Right now as I type this my youngest son is throwing corn and green beans at me. This seems to be making my screen harder and harder to see!
